Some people thought it was a start at putting an end to a word that‘s historically painful, while others thought is was foolish and a waste of time. How can you kill something that just won’t die? Will Blacks ever be able to rid themselves of the N-word or will it forever be attached? Tune in a on Sunday, July 22nd as we have this heated debate with Dr. Lonnie Randolph, President of the SC Chapter of the NAACP, and Dr. David Campt, nationally known as “The Race Doctor”.

“When The Education System Fails Our Kids”. A recent report by “The Education Week” shows South Carolina as having the worst graduation rate in the nation. According to the spokesman for the SCED, South Carolina has consistently been ranked in the bottom when it comes to education. Why is that? What are we doing wrong? Are the kids here really that unreachable and unteachable or does the education system, as we know it, just doesn’t work? There must be a better way if these kids are to have a real chance in the marketplace. Join us on Sunday, June 24th as OnPoint takes a real look at why our kids are at the bottom of the education ladder.

Their hard work, sacrifices and dedication goes unnoticed. It takes a lot to let a child into your home and love them as your own. Being a foster parent can be very rewarding for the child as well as for the parent. So many more foster parents are needed. Tune in on Sunday, May 20th as we look into the whole foster care system and tell you how to become a foster parent because it really does take a village.

4/29/2007 "Gun Control In America"
“Gun Control In America” - Is there a waiting period on gun sales? Are you required to register all of your guns with law enforcement? What about background checks? Are they required for gun purchases at gun shows or online? The answers to some of these questions may surprise you. With the recent shootings in this country and even right here in South Carolina, do we need stricter gun laws? How can we keep these dangerous weapons out the hands of criminals without giving up our right to bear arms? Tune in to OnPoint on Sunday, April 29th as we discuss this serious issue.

What in the world is going on and what are some of these teachers thinking? What is the punishment when school authority figures cross that line? Should their be stricter background checks on teachers? Once found guilty, should the teachers be listed as a sexual offender? Tune in on Sunday, March 25th as we try to answer these tough questions in today’s show.

3/18/2007 "War in Iraq...4 Years LaterNow What?"

3/4/2007 “Who Has The Right To Life…The Mother or the Fetus?”
“Who Has The Right To Life…The Mother or the Fetus?” A House panel recently endorsed a bill to require women seeking an abortion to look at ultrasound images of their fetus. Proponents of the bill say due to technology, a woman can see a more detailed picture of the fetus and see that it is a human being and not just tissue as once argued and perhaps she may change her mind about having an abortion. Opponents say, it is still a woman’s right to choose and forcing her to look at a picture of the fetus infringes upon those rights. What do you think? Tune in Sunday, March 4th as we ask “who has the right to life…the mother or the fetus?”

10/15/2006 "Where Are America's Morals?"
Where are America’s Morals?- America seems to be on a downhill slope when it comes to honesty, integrity, and values. People will lie, cheat and steal at the drop of a hat and think nothing of it. Our kids are now being raised by the television or Playstation 2 and not their parents. Marriages are no longer until “death do us part“. Maybe we are just too materialistic and “money hungry” because affluence can even bring the power to do whatever one wants to do. This week on OnPoint, tune in as we take a look at what we place our values on nowadays. Do we not have the same values as generations before? What values do most of us live by and how do we get back on path and start doing what we know is the right thing?
